When director Tim Miller and visual effects supervisor David Stinnett opened Blur Studio in 1995, their main goal was to craft visually striking and engaging narratives, an ambition that remains true to this day. Our solid pipeline and flexible production model is designed to easily expand as we continue to move forward into feature film development, both on our own and partnered with accomplished directors and writers. With extensive experience in motion capture, a driven team of directors, producers and artists, and a character workflow to bring any creature imaginable to life, we’ve created intergalactic sequences for “Avatar,” critically acclaimed game trailers, and massive campaigns for brands like Toshiba and Pepperidge Farm’s Goldfish Crackers. Our work spans immersive stereoscopic animation for a 3D attraction at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, abstract black-on-black opening titles for “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and the almost entirely CG prologue of Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World.” In 2004, Blur received an Academy Award nomination for short film “Gopher Broke,” one of five original projects written, directed and produced in-house. In addition to an ongoing slate of games, film and advertising projects for EA, Fox, Microsoft, Universal, Marvel, Y&R, Warner Bros, Activision, Paramount and more, Blur is attached to multiple full-length feature film projects with Tim Miller as director.
