ROOF / VABYSMO - A Beautiful Sight
ROOF Studio partnered with Grey Health to create this stunning story in just over two months. It was a tremendous challenge, but the results speak for themselves. “A Beautiful Sight” is a heartwarming two-minute-long animated film that depicts the journey of a mother and son through several decades. The story is primarily told from the son's perspective, showcasing his development from infancy to his professional career, with his mother as the central figure. Since the story is mostly told from a "point of view" style, the character of Mom is always very close to the camera. Therefore, it was important to maintain a high level of detail in her facial and body features, and her hair had to convey different styles reflecting different periodic trends.

Roof crafted storyboard filled with lively scenes, bound together by seamless transitions and dynamic camera movements. The narrative required intense attention to detail in their renders, particularly with vegetation, to immerse the audience fully in the children's world. Each environment, from the blooming garden to the leafy treehouse, played a crucial storytelling role. Character development was also key, as they aimed to convey the children's evolving friendship, shared experiences, and their proud community contributions, capturing the essence of their journey.Despite the technical challenges of crafting detailed environments and characters, the Roof teams' creativity thrived under these demands. The final product, '4-H', is a testament to their talent and innovative spirit.
Roof - Picturing My Mind
Roof ended 2022 by creating this eye-catching passion piece from director and co-founder Vinicius Costa. Picturing My Mind is a whimsical animated journey through the doors of past memories. A visual open that explores the profound experiences that shape us all. "In contrast to the rich details in the background, I wanted our character to stand out as simple. And body language is important to this film, as I animated her with big motion - opposite to the rigid stiffness of the structures near by. This conceptual juxtaposition allows the character to appear relatively small in frame while capturing your attention." - Vini
